Convertibars

Well I ordered a set of convertibars 3 weeks ago. They seemed to be the best deal for the money, and to fit my needs. Their web site seemed to be top notch and so I placed my order. A week went by and I had not even gotten a confirmation e-mail that I placed my order, so I went ahead and gave them a call since I had read on here that someone else took over a month to get their order. A nice lady answered the phone, but seemed almost like talking to a robot. She tried to answer my questions, but didn’t seem to know a whole lot about the product or even if they product had been shipped. She told me she would transfer me to Customer Support, and after a brief time on hold, she came back on the line and said customer support was unavailable. I assumed this meant the company was small and the 1 customer service person was at lunch. No big deal, I left a message with her and she assured me someone would call back shortly. Several hours went by and I called back, and got the same nice lady. She tried to transfer me again and once again came back and said customer server was unavailable. I left another message. The next day was the same thing. I finally asked if she could find out where they were. As it turned out the lady was just working for an answering service and the covertibars itself was not answering the phone. She said she had left several messages for them to call me back. I still 2 weeks later and 7 messages left have not heard back from them. I did in the mean time get my order. It came in two separate packages about 3 days apart. The first package was the brake line, and the second was the actual convertibars. I went to install it last night the 3” longer brake line option that I ordered ended up being the same size as the stock brake line. The brake line was shipped to me separate from Spiegler Performance Parts. The package on the brake lines even says Daytona 955i main +3”. I can stretch the stock line out right next to the next brake lines and the new one is actually about a half inch shorter than stock. It certainly will not reach and give me any extra height on my handle bars. So I once again called convertibars and of course got the same answering service and left another message. Being that I figure calling convertibars seems to be a lost cause. I decided to call Spiegler. I realize I didn’t order from them, but the product is their product and I thought maybe they just packaged it wrong. I could see where that would be easy to do. I got ahold of a guy a Spiegler who basically made it very clear that I was not a customer of theirs and that I needed to call who ever I ordered it from. I told him all I wanted to know was how long the brake line should be so that I would know if I was sent the wrong one. He would not even give me that information and just said he could not help me. So right now my bike is all apart, and I can’t ride it and all I have is a robotic answering service to leave messages with. What customer service!!!

Update

Well I guess I forgot to ask the main question... Does anyone know how long the stock brake lines on a 2003 daytona 955i are?

I did get a call back from Convertibars today. i was kinda shocked. He said he would follow up with Spiegler and get it corrected. He called back again and left a message saying they would be sending me the correct brake line. So hopefully in about a week i will be back on the road. I will update everyone on how I like the product itself. So far from the looks of it, it seems like it should work well.

Thanks for the info on your dilemma
I'm getting ready to order a set.
Although your story does not deter me, it does give me a heads up to check all parts before tearing the bike down.
Sometimes it's tough running a small business..maybe this is a sideline for somebody.

I hope eveything works out for you.

Zam-
I've installed Convertibars with the stock brake line and there is still a good amount of adjustment without binding the clutch or brake lines. Just making the bars 1" higher and positioning the cyclops clamps outside of the forks made the setup much more comfortable.
