Acumen/any gear indicator

Hi, I just spoke with a guy from acumen who informed me that they had a fair amount of problems with the gear indicator on the 955i's as the signal noise from the alternator is too strong. This was down to the individual bike, so some would have problems, others worked fine. I could risk it, but I'm looking at £100 for the unit and loom, so I'm having an ask around first!

Has anyone experienced anything like this, and does anyone know of an alternative gear indicator that might not suffer from this (eg, there used to be an indicator that replaced the neutral sensor in the gearbox for a sensor that would sense each gear) or perhaps a solution to fixing a noisy alternator?

Thanks in advance.

Never heard of the noisy alternator thing!!
I have the Acumen - I previously had it installed on my T509 (mech speedo) using an auxiliary speed sender; since I retrofit in the Daytona motor with wiring harness etc, I now use the OEM front sender to trigger off.
One issue with this is the update rate, especially in the lower gears, due to the slow pulse count off the OEM sender per wheel revolution. Otherwise it works fine. Any other indicator will suffer from same on the Triumph. The later 1050 bikes with transmission sender are probably better.

Thanks for the reply.
Has anyone used one of the plug-in looms for a 2005 or beyond 955i? They know that it will fit a 2004, but they're unsure if the wiring layout changed with the '05 955i and later.

Thanks again.
