Just bought a Daytona 1000, any comments...?

Just picked up what looks like a real nice condition 1991 Daytona 1000, taxed and with good tyres with less than 20,000 miles on the clock for £1,100 (around $2,000). Just thought it would make a good back up to my 08 Sprint ST.

Photos attached. What do you think.....

Nice bike. Always thought the early models had class. Great price too!

I Like it, I am lucky enough to have a mk1 speed triple and a 2004 daytona the Speedy wins the build quality and looks hands down in my opinion.

Hi Richard,

The fuel tap opens with vacuum so in "on" and "reserve" positions, the engine needs to be running for fuel to flow. The "prime" position gives free flow of fuel to the carbs without the engine running, which you would use if you have completely run dry or if you have had the carbs apart etc.

Check into the T3 forum for loads of info on your bike...

Cheers,

Roden
