Oh Sh*t kit for Daytona

I am going to do a little touring this summer on my 02 955i.

I am going to make a small bundle of tools and other things that will fit under the passenger seat.

Tire patch kit (includes air cartridges)
Correct size wrenches for small repairs and adjustments.
Zip Ties
Safety wire
A few fairing screws
Spare fuses
$cash
A laminated copy of my registration, insurance card and license shrunk down to 50%

Anything else you guys can add?

Thanks,
Ed

Hey Pinballer,
Sounds good. Only, I'd leave off the laminated registration, insurance, drivers license-for the reason that if you're bike is stolen, this information is now in the hands of the thief.

Cheers,
-Scott

Thanks Scott,

I had thought about that. I may hide that info somewhere else on the bike or stash a spare copy of my info in my tankbag or jacket just in case. I am headed over the border and would like to have some identification if my wallet is stolen or lost.

I may also pack a spare set of footpegs and levers. They are very light and would be great to have if there was a crash or even a silly tip-over. My aim is to be able to ride out from wherever I am and not have to wait for assistance.

I crashed my VFR700 years ago in the middle of nowhere in at 4:00am. I had damaged both my shoulders and was still able to wrestle the bike up and rode it away. I could not not physically use the front brake and the radiator was spraying my hand but I managed to get to a hospital for x-rays (broken right shoulder and torn rotator cuffs. After I got out of the ER, I rode home and went to work the next day (new job, I could not call out). They kindly sent me home when they realized I could not use my arms very well.

Thanks,
Ed

I'd suggest a spare clutch cable and a spare throttle pull cable. Keep your spare reg info on you!

Set of metric hex wrenches. I also like a small 1/4" drive ratchet with a 10mm socket - couple of extra size sockets if you have room.

I just installed new throttle cables so I wont worry about that for now. That would not be fun to do on the side of the road :-)

Thanks for the reminder, I need to check and lube my clutch cable.

Duct tape for taping up fairings and some of that epoxy stuff you mix into a putty. (Plastic metal I think its called. Anyone know its trade name ?) Could be useful for patching a casing or fixing leaks.

Also self amalgamating tape for hose or pipe failure might come in handy.

I carry a small pack of "BBW's" while on longer trips. "Baby Butt Wipes" are great when that nice, juicy bug augers into your 'shield and leaves a bull's eye at YOUR eye level. Fast cleanup! Good for "other things" as well...

Light

One thing I don't forget is a falshlight, I picked up a small "spot Light" from Snap On,6 LED bulbs in the fron yet it's only 3" long and about 3/4" in diamater, it tucks under the seat nicley.
