auxilliary power socket

Hi, do Triumph make an auxilliary power socket for a Daytona 955?
I'd like one as fitted to an 06 Tiger so that I can plug my Optimate battery charger in easily.
Regards

Daveyl,

I recently posted a walkthrough on installing a power socket on my 04 955i.

http://www.triumphrat.net/daytona-de...ghlight=socket

Typical install locations are in the side cockpit panels, below the seat, and dash. I installed my outlet in the dash as I thought it was the ideal location
for running my gps.

IMHO, the best auxilary outlet is CASCO Auxiliary Socket #217825. Available at NAPA automotive, NAPA part #BK 7822236. It's about $10 cheaper than the powerlet brand and is originally designed for installs in the beds of pickup trucks-it's a good all weather design.

The walkthrough is pretty detailed, but let me know if you have any questions.
Cheers.

Thanks very much, I've just read your walk through. Deciding where to fit it seems the hardest part. How weatherproof are the "weatherproof" socktets?

These CASCO sockets are sealed, as opposed to some other less costly sockets. The spring fliptop cap does a good job of keeping element out when not in use. Overall, the construction appears to be very solid.

Indeed the hardest part is finding a good mounting location. The cockpits on our Daytonas are very cramped and there isn't much room to play with.

Mounting via the dashboard tucks the socket out of the way and does keep out of any immediate weather.
