Battery or Regulator ?

There I was all ready for the first rideout this year.
Bike fired up first time everyrthing checked.
Stopped after about 5 Miles for fuel. Bike wouldn't start up again eventually managed to push start, their bloody heavy to push when wearing full leathers!!:
When I got home I thought that I'd check battery seemed to take a while to charge. Put a volt meter on it next day showing 12 volts. Started it up went to 13.2 volts put on the lights went down to 12.2 volts. I think that this is probably the voltage regulator at fault. Any Ideas?
Also the Engine Management light has came on would this tie in with a faulty Regulator?
Any suggestions really appreciated.
By the way its an 02 Daytona 955I

MIL light is on due to low battery voltage. The ECM can't tell if there is a regulator fault, only that the battery volts are low. I'd be going for the battery as the culprit - it should have charged to higher voltage than 12 if on the charger overnight.
