Valve Shim Tool

Hi there everyone, I hope someone here can help me. Ive recently purchased a tool from Ebay to help change the shims on my D12. Has anyone used one of these, and if so how does it work? Id be grateful for any advice. Many thanks Spellbinder

I have no idea what that is, nor how to use is.

I just use a magnet to pull out the shims.

Your pctures aren't showing so can't give you any real advice.

If its the usual non triumph tool you use it to hold open one pair of valves so that the shims can be removed.

Turn engine so cam fully opens one pair of valves ie #1 cyl exh.
Bolt plate to to cam bearing caps and adjust legs on tool to hold down bucket on the respective valves when cam is rotated away from open position. Lever out shims and replace with correct size.

Don't forget to measure clearances before fitting tool. Keep a note of shim sizes fitted for later use.

With all due respect if you don't know what it is or how to use it I'd leave it alone as you can totaly f**k your motor.

Sell it to me for a bargain price instead.
