Vin confusion issue

Hi

I'm having a issue with my vin of a project bike.
On the frame the vin is SMTTE502LGX087768
But if I read the ecu mc2000 the vin is:
Smtte500kgw070145
Which one should I go off I'm pretty worried as I thought both vins would match.
The bike is ment to be a 955i daytona 1999 I have noticed I has a wheel sensor on the back as well.
Any ideas or help would be great.
Cheers
Adam

Just found out the map is also a 9852 which would relate to a t509 885cc standard map. I'm very confused as I bought it as a 955i also on the registration documents it says 955i.
Unless at some point someone has put a different engine and ecm in?

Could likely be a replacement ECM with the tune from it's doner 509 still in it. The mc2000 is the correct ECM in either case. You just need to install the correct tune for your Daytona.

The VIN on the frame is what defines the 'actual' VIN of the bike - or at least SHOULD do.
Check the VIN mumber of frame again - don't think you have it written correctly
Assuming the 10th digit would be X that would suggest at least the frame is from a '99

From picture from your earlier thread, (I have reposted it above) the motor appears to look like Daytona vs Speed Triple (the Speed Triple engine has a Triumph badge on that oval space on right side of motor)
The exhaust is definitely early T595 rather than a 955i (it has separate down pipes and connected to header by springs)
The radiator and oil cooler are definitely Daytona rather than Speed Triple
I can see the IACV which is definitely T595 and not 955i
If indeed has a speed sensor, that indicates an early T595 - however the engine number suggests a later (non wheel sensor) engine

Sounds like you may have a BITSA model
(bits from this, bits from that .....................................)

I would start with map 9862 and see how that runs; or 9859 from the earlier T595

You totally correct I also believe it's a bit of a bits and bobs bike.
The strange thing is the map that the bike seems to run OK with is from the t509 9852 which the ecm accepts just fine.
I haven't tried the maps you have suggested so will tomorrow.
Yes it does have a wheel sensor at the rear and icav so yea must be a t595.
Thanks for your reply

Just re checked the frame vin which is correct at the bottom t500 is also stamped.
Tomorrow as it's dark here now I'll actually make sure the wheel sensor is connected and if there is a relay thats working.
Then I'll go from there

OK used the t595 map and it seemed good. Until the coolant boiled the fan didn't kick in either for the parameters reset 12min.
On tune ecu though it said tempature 45c when it boiled over.

That 12 min parameter reset deal is not applicable to the earlier Sagem ECM"S. Nothing happens.

Ahhhhhhhhh OK I was obviously reading a bit to much into things either way the fan isn't coming in it works as I've tested it with tuneecu.
It's just strange how the temp was super high but tuneecu was reading 45c also I found out my thermostat is broke its hardly opening and remains open when cool.
