later model daytona vs t595?

howdy to all. i used to own a 1997 T595 but sold it in 1999 -or there abouts - when kids started to arrive (i know, i know, you idiot etc etc! ) . But just recently i've been thinking about getting back into it, and stumbled across a 2004 model 955 with only 2000 km on the clock. this one has a single sided swing arm (i believe for a while they switched to a double conventional arm?). what were the major changes made from the 98 vintage to the 2004 model? did they go to sharper, more race track oriented steering geometry and suspension? i liked the original because it was a road bike, not a race replica, and would not want an uncompromising head down track bike. i want something that's still reasonably comfortable.

any thoughts on the 2004 model?

cheers, jason.

Jason, The frame's pretty much the same, as is the front and rear suspension. Everything else is different via evolution. The '02 dual sided swingarm model appeared in '02 only and it is a bit lighter and more flickable.

man BradTx...i had the same combo that you have....i loved my 99. on the other hand...this 04 is head and heels above the 99 in preformance and ride. it is just a better bike, all around...go for the 04 you wont regret it...

The differences are not that big, The newer ones have a little more top end pull, but i think in your situation its gonna be what look do you like most.
