K&P oil filter

Anyone used this cartridge-type filter on their Daytona? Any comments on it, good or bad? I'm thinking of trying it unless someone has a good reason not to.

Oldyeller,

I posted on oil filters a month ago. See thread here:
http://www.triumphrat.net/daytona-de...il-filter.html

Someone assembled an in depth report on motorcycle oil filters here:
http://motorcycleinfo.calsci.com/Fil...tml#OilFilters
Really, quite an interesting article.

Basically, the Purolator Pure One is the best out there. I have Purolator Pure One stock # 14610 installed on my 955i now. My local Strauss Auto had them in stock too.

Let me add to this. I will admit that I have only read the first two paragraphs of the article but I have something better....personal experience.

My wife and I have a van that at one point had a Fram filter in it. The oil was changed on Saturday and driven Sunday to the corner store, about a mile total there and back. On Monday she drove to work and called me to say that the van was making noise but the light didn't come on. She said it was a small noise, she calls or asks me to check out everything......you know the drill.

I told her to drive home when she was finished at the office and that i would check it out. Well she got home and the lifters were chattering like I have never heard before.

To make a long story short the filter came apart and the 'filter' came apart and went into the engine. I called Fram and they wanted the filter to verify what was going on. They said if it was their fault they would pay for the damage. They got the filter and then stopped taking my calls. I finally got ahold of someone and they said it wasn't their fault.

So no only does Fram make poor quality filters, they do not stand behind them either.
