Speed Sensor Magnet

I have had the dreaded failure of the speed sensor magnet.('04 Tona) (Probably my fault because I wasn't careful enough lining up the drive when I put the wheel back in.)

It was broken in two. I have stuck the ring magnet back together with epoxy. (After degreasing of course.) The question is have others done this ? if so did it work and did it last ?

As we know from previous threads a replacement is fearsomely expensive.

Dave, Iffy fix, but works often enough to at least try. Ended up replacing the unit on the '02 which was broken prior to it's arrival. Good luck!

On reflection I decided to buy a replacement - £92 + VAT Much to my surprise the expected diamonds and gold plating were nowhere to be seen it was just the same old plastic moulded thing as the old one.

Peace of mind is priceless. I know it is only the speedo drive but if I used the glued up one I would be riding along staring at the speedo expecting it to pack up any minute. A little distracting to say the least.

You're not alone 'Dave - it's really disappointing that Triumph has not made the magnet available as a separate spare part. Now after you've been there, sure not to again, but it is a tough lesson to bare at that price ...........
