Can anyone provide a link to info on these exhaust systems? I'm looking to replace my '03 Daytona stock can.

I've been searching and can only find links to forum questions, but the answers are still vague.

Thanks

D

I have one on my Daytona and love it. However I never found a website for them. Jack Lilleys carries them as does Skyking. My Triumph dealer,Orange County Triumph also carries them 714-429-9200....John

Here's a pic of the MHP mounted. Click the "Butt Shot" link below for a rear shot. The tail still hasn't been chopped, yet.

I just did a search on SkyKing and looks like he doesn't carry the MHP anymore. Or else it's real well hidden. That's where I go mine.

I also could not find it on Skyking. :???:

So is my best bet to order from the Jack Lillys Website in the UK? Or is Orange Co. Triumph a better idea?

Would there be any downside to ordering from the UK, other than the Dollar/Pound conversion?

Would I need to have the dealer install it and re-map my tuning?

BTW... Thanks for the pic.

Thanks

D

you'ld have to check total delivered prices at both places. I wouldn't be surprised if a state side dealer could beat jack lilly's total delivered price. might be worth a call to these guys, also: http://www.rideteamtriumph.com/ seems to me someone mentioned that they are a source for products from jack lilly.

check availability, also. i waited a few months for delivery of mine, but that was in the summer. mhp is a small company and production of the mufflers might be down during their riding season.

having said that, i am well pleased with the fit and finish of the product. imho well worth the wait. the sound has an nice attitude, but not outright ear-spliting. some brits have likened it to a lancaster bomber. never heard one of those myself.

i had the dealer download the triumph high-pipe tune and install the muffler. installation by them only because it was one of the perks negotiated when i purchased the bike.

the muffler is a straight bolt-on. no mods needed at the bike's tail for fit, at least not on the s3. i removed my rear foot-pegs. i'm fairly sure there are options available should you wish to keep those foot pegs. my dealer had asked me if i wished to leave mine on as he said he had something to make it work. didn't ask him what or how.

Doghart,

I think shipping from the U.K. is pretty expensive. Probably cheaper to find a U.S. distributor.

Shipping a can from the UK works out to about $50 for a 4 day service...

MHP don't have a web site but if you ever need to know anything you can talk to the man himself in the UK on 01483 473473

MHP are a great quality can and Mark Hill is a top guy - in fact I would never have started making silencers myself without him so can't rate him highly enough

Thanks for all the replies, advice and links! :-D :-D :-D

I am going to contact Orange Co. and the Wisconsin dealership this Monday and get an idea of pricing/shipping.

I guess my next step would be to get pricing from my dealer in Denver on mounting and re-tuning the engine/CPU, correct?

EDIT: Does the MHP come with the hardware to keep the pillion footpeg in place? I'll want to keep it as the wife enjoys the occasional ride (on the bike  ).

Thanks

D

doghart, i don't want to mislead you on this foot peg installation. the dealer who offered to do it for me has never installed an mhp with the foot peg included. in fact, i was his first and maybe only mhp installation. and the guy who offered to install the pegs was not the guy working on the bike. my guess is that he was thinking in terms of the triumph high-pipe.

my best advice would be to email mark at mhp and put this question to him. maybe eurotwins can input to this, also.

at the end of this post are links to three pics of the mhp mounting system. a rough guess based on eyeballing my bike is that the peg would have to stand out somewhere around 1" or more from its' original location. you can see in the front photo that i already have my muffler cocked in a little at the front so as to gain a little boot clearance. the mhp muffler bracket is around 5/16" thick. at the least you would have to source a standout-spacer and longer mounting bolts with head and thread matching original.

another consideration might be that the footprint of the foot peg mount to the frame is larger than the mhp bracket. you can see that easily ‘cause i never got around to removing the bracket and painting the lugs. might want to consider moving that bracket behind the frame lugs. the muffler clamp would need to be reshaped slightly as the muffler would stay generally in the same location. in this case you would need enough thread beyond the lugs to accommodate the bracket and a washer and locknut.

okay, after all that windage i just found the following link. look at fumanchu's post and see what you make of it. sounds like skyking has (or had) a foot peg kit for this pipe. you could try and contact him for info and maybe the kit.

mhp inside
