Doghart, O.C. Triumph is closed on monday as usual. But call them tuesday and ask them about mounting the pillon pegs as I believe it will only require longer bolts. The MHP can is an oval and should leave plenty of clearance. I use my Daytona solo only. I bought the Bonneville to ferry the wife......John

I spoke with someone at OC Triumph and they were extremely helpful.

I was unaware that this pipe was so expensive though.

MHP highmount exhaust: $650
Spacer kit for rear footpeg: $20
Shipping: ???
power Commander: $300
Installation and setup: ???

I think I may just order the TwoBros high mount and Power Commander for about the same price as the MHP or less installed.

Sorry for the runaround and thanks Geezer for the pics and advice.

Doghart, I know they are not cheap but the quality is worth every penny and Mark Hill makes pipes expressly for your Daytona rather than Two bros that uses the same can for many differant applications. I personally don't like the carbon weave of thier pipes. The MPH in my opinion is a work of art in titanium. Try to look at the pipes and listen to them before you decide. My other factor is I wanted a British made pipe for a British bike. Remus on my BMW and Termignoni on my Ducati, maybe just a quirk but oh well. You can't lose with the MHP.....John

not a runaround, doghart. you wanted some info and i was happy to input.

yea, they are a little salty. but you only pay once and then live with it day after month after year once purchased. there are a lot of choices, just make one you can live with.

for me it was a high pipe with the shorter profile and the ti finish. had to have it.

I have one too, but not currently mounted on my bike. I took it off of my former '02 D955i which I recently parted with after upgrading to my current bike. It IS a nice quality piece and the sound not overly loud for a Ti "mufflerless" pipe. There is no way to keep the passenger footpegs in place with the MHP mounted, but I trust from what others have said, there is a spacer kit for that application. Kind of self-defeating, however, because why go with a Ti pipe if you are not interested in lightening the load so to speak.

One thing that I remember when I had my '02 with the MHP still mounted, is how much it enhanced the triple howl. With the stock pipe that wonderful sound still can be readily heard, but with the MHP, the howl is much more audible from lower down in the power curve, all the way to max rpm.

The only other pipe that stands out especially in the great looks dep't is Triumph's OEM CF high mount. I am half tempted to get one to go with my SE and forgo using the MHP I already have. Would you like to make me an offer? :-D

Well that figures.... day late and a dollar short.
If I'd checked the forums earlier I would have been very interested in that pipe.

I ordered a Triumph high mount carbon fiber can from my dealer yesterday.

I spoke with a friend that works at the dealer and he said that the Two Bros was a decent pipe, but their quality has suffered since one of the two brothers split off to run his own business.

He said he had heard nothing but good things about the MHP, but it was out of my price range. So I decided, with his reccomendation, on the Triumph CF high mount.

Once again thanks to all of you, and I'll let you know how it sounds and rides.

Well, I dropped the bike off today to get the exhaust mounted and get the recall fuel line clips taken care of.

Turns out that Triumph sent an exhaust for a speed tripple by mistake and I'll be waiting another week or so.

At least I got the recall taken care of.

UPDATE:

Well, I got a call from the dealership that my exhaust had finally arrived.

On a whim, I asked them to check it before wasting my time going in for it to get fitted etc...

Holy *%*, the wrong exhaust again!!!

Is this common?

They claim it is a Daytona part # and are contacting Triumph to figure out what is going on.

I told them that I give up! I am getting a two bro's high mount and planning on ordering a tune boy.

Any advice or concerns I should address before proceeding?

Thanks again.
