undertails?

hello,
im looking for a sporty aftermarket undertail that will fit an '04 daytona 955i. specifically something with integrated tail light and turn signals..ive done a bit of research and came up with 2 options, one being the free street undertail (http://skykingproducts.com/Merchant2...ory_Code=Z-New)
the second being the pyramid plastics undertail (http://www.pyramid-plastics.co.uk/ca...oducts_id=1268)
however, ive heard bad things about the quality of the free street products, but just wanted some opinions from people who have experience with either undertail. the tabs that bolt the undertray to the subframe broke on my stock undertray so im in need of a new undertail anyway and the stock unit goes for about $285 which is rediculous so i might as well improve the looks of the bike and save some money..any comments or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Does the one from pyramid plastics come with those turn signals, or do you supply your own? That looks sharp.

i would assume it comes with everything pictured, it uses the stock tail light so all your really getting is the undertail with integrated signals. i think it looks pretty clean, better than the bracket with slimmed down signals that the bandwagon seems to buy. not sure about the quality of this peice though, which is why im asking peoples thoughts on which is better. also if anyone knows of any other manufactures that make similar undertails i'd appreciate it..i know comp racing makes a carbon one but i think its priced rediculously at $700 or something like that, i guess theirs some good crack in australia

Have you thought about or looked at undertal exhaust kits? I think it comes with a complete kit. But I have not done much research on it. I have an 04 955i as well and am seriously thinking about it!!

well not many companies make an undertail exhaust system for this bike, and the few that i have seen are over $1000 so ill def. pass on that....$220 aftermarket undertail + $200 triumph carbon highmount can (used) > $1000 exhaust system...depends on your budget i guess, personally i just cant justify spending that much money on an exhaust system, the looks arent worth the price and the performance, well this isnt exactly a bike that you should be concerned about its performance to begin with because you can throw your $1000 exhaust system and a good tune on the daytona and still get walked by every jap liter bike. i bought this bike wrecked and it was intended to be a budget build, so far its coming along nicely and ive managed to find a good amount of oem parts used suprisingly. im looking for aftermarket undertails because i need a new undertail anyway because the previous owner decided after wrcking the bike, that he would make his own mounting points for the undertail by drilling his own holes in his bent subframe and mounting it like so....genious seeing as how the oem undertail goes for $285 and most aftermaket ones go for less than $225, i think the choice is obvious....

I was in the same predicament with a tail for my old FZR, a friend had an R1 race solo in fibreglass, so I made the subframe with steel that cost $19AUS and some mirror stainless I had lying around, then painted it! the indicators cost more than the whole rear end!!! I made the number plate hanger as well.
Def worth a try at making one, you may surprise yaself!
Some shots during and after the construction, took about 8hrs work all up.

Just some ideas, don't feel trapped by lack of factory or overpriced parts av a go!

Undertail kit

That is the cleanist undertail yet , I too have an '04 955i and have been looking for a way to clean up the rear . I have a high mount carbon system coming from Trident - Wolf..........the two would go well together.
