Blue LED placement?

Looking to place about 10 strips (3 leds per strip) of blue LEDs on my 01 955i. Anyone have any suggestions as to where the optimal palcement spots would be. I definitely want to place one in each of the rear intake cowls...that should look cool through the stainless steel mesh. Any other thoughts.

Thanks

If I was going to build a show bike out of a Daytona, I'd put two strips in each side fairing for starters. I'd also get som billet sliders from Sky King so that the light will reflect off of them. Also, I'd chrome and/or jet hot your pipe for the same reason.

Have your rims polished, or do it yourself, then wire one on the inside of the swingarm, concealing the wiring underneath. Two more on either side of the front forks to show off that rim.

One more underneath the fuel tank and one to light up the ground. I think that's 10, right?

i dont know where you are from...but here in California...the police man cracks down on anybody that has RED,BLUE,YELLOW led's or neon on their bike/cars. those colors are reserved for cops/emegency vehicles. they harrassed bikes at local bike nights where the bikes are parked and have the lights on for display...other colors are ok....but not if you are moving though...thats illegal here too...

LEDs don't like heat so keep them in cool places or they will die.

I've considered it.

I've decided, though, that I would never do that to my CE. Maybe a different Daytona but the CEs (aside from performance enhancements) should be left alone, IMHO.

I fitted a 7-color Kuryakyn Lizzard Light LED kit to my black '05 Daytona. It came with 8 lights and a small control box to turn it on/off, change color, and change from steady on to flashing. Call me a squid if you want, but I like the way it looks. Really makes the bike stand out in a crowd.

To light up the engine, I just stuck the light strips right to the inside of the fairings. They light everything up real good. I also put one on the bottom of the battery tray to light up the swingarm and rear shock. I didn't put any to light up the wheels, but I have black wheels so it would be a waste. I might get a few more to light up the road under my bike, though.

If you plan on riding with the lights on, then I wouldn't put any lights anywhere that could be seen from the front of the bike. You will surely be hassled by the police if you do. Also, as Dano pointed out, make sure you check your local laws. I haven't had any problems in Ohio, but know in Pennsylvania any accent lights whatsoever are illegal. One of my buddies got a ticket for them on a ride out to bike night at Quaker Steak & lube in Sharon, PA.
