07GSXR Fork conversion for 00RS

I have just ran across a pair of forks, wheel, brakes, calipers, triple's, clip on's ect... Basically I have a some questions about it before i do this conversion. Like why do you have to buy new bearings or bushings for the stearing stem? Is it just a good idea to replace them or will the others just not work? What about the speedometer sensor, do you try and use the sensor off of the GSXR or the Sprint? I am going to try and keep my cluster the same. I am wanting to use the GSXR front wheel that comes with it, but I dont have too.
Thanks,
Chris

well, unfortuntantly i dont think you can use the stock gsxr triple tree because the triumph ignition will not bolt up properly, and you cant use the triumph triple tree because of the difference in the fork sizes. so your forced to go with a custom upper triple tree which i have yet to see a company who manufactures these however some riders on the forum have made their own via a cnc machine...or you could just modify the stock gsxr one and relocate the ignition..either way the conversion is not a direct bolt on...as for the bearings, the gsxr bearings are roller and the triumph ones are taper from my understanding...theres people on here that are by far more knowledgable than me who im sure will chime in as im only learing myself as i do the conversion on my bike...oh and the stock speedo will only work with the triumph front wheel but you will need spacers which i believe can be ordered from compracing.au if you choose to go with the gsxr wheel you wont be able to use your factory speedo as the gsxrs do not read off the front wheel. if any of this is incorrect please feel free to correct me, lol. hope this helps. goodluck

Well I already knew about the triple clamp, and I think I am going to simply relocate it. How do people set it up to run the stock wheel? Because on the GSXR fork there is no nipple to hold the sensor in place.

There is one thing that I know nothing about, bearings. So why cant I use the bearings out of the triumph tree?
Thanks,
Chris

You say '07 GSXR but not which model: the 1000 will likely be too long in the trail with only 28mm offset. The 07 750, like the 05/06 1000 is 30mm.
The rake is less aggressive on the Sprint vs the Daytona or S3 so the 30mm is the max you should consider.
Your front wheel will work with the correct spacers - the speedo drive will be the original but require to be machined. Racecomp (which is what I believe oSoJDM intended) do not do spacers for 05+ forks - if at all these days.
The bearings require replacing because the stem is different dimension - also the original GSXR is a ball race vs TR on the Triumph.
Lots of info in the thread in my signature link re all the different spacers requirements etc.

I am sorry. 600. I have been reading those forums also. Would those bearings that you listed for yours work for mine or? How does the speedo need to be machined?

The 600's would most likely require to be re-sprung.
The speedo would need 5mm shaved off the outside (fork leg side) face - as measured on the steel center bushing.
You will need:
Speedo drive machined
GSXR Axle
Left side wheel spacer
Caliper Spacers
Rotor Spacers
Steering stop
Top & bottom Bearings (same as S3/Daytona)
GSXR triple tree.
GSXR forks
GSXR Calipers

You may also benefit from GSXR fender which is then a bolt-on affair as opposed to trying to integrate the Triumph one; and also a Radial pump from GSXR.

Why do you say that the 600 would probably need to be resprung? can I simply use washers for the caliper spacers? Radial pump from GSXR?

What are the dimensions for the left side wheel spacer? I know that I am going to need 5mm for the calipers and 1.5 for the rotors. Correct? And with the master cylinder, I cant use the stock Triumph one? Can I use the same bearings that you listed in your thread? from All Balls Racing.
Thanks,
Chris
