triumph low mount carbon

My Triumph off road crbon can completely broke at the base during my trip. Didn't notice it until I washed the bike off. I am sending it back to the dealer for warranty replacement and will probably get a high mount in it's place. Can't imagine why or how it broke in half, but am glad the mount held it together for the trip. I wondered why it sounded a bit louder than normal and would have to say it wasn't a very good quality build.

Brad,

No pictures because I've already boxed it. The whole base was completely loose and could be wiggled about a 1/4 inch back and forth, don't know exactly what held it together, but it was a total loss and the burn marks around the edges were very apparent. It did leak from day one a bit and got worse until it broke.

TT

My brother has a Daytona SE with the TOR low mount carbon can, and he had the same thing happen to him. Evidently, it's a common defect that Triumph is well aware of. He experienced no problems in having Triumph replace it, though he did have to pay shipping on his return.
