Im close to trading in my ZX6R (apologies for swearing) for a 955i 03 model. This will be my second bike and really want to know if this is good move. What r they like for pillion and are they comfortable on long distance. Any views??

I'd prefer the 955i over the ZX6... easily, but I think improvements in the areas of pillion comfort and long distance riding would be modest at best. The 955i is still quite aggressive ergonomically.

It is a great bike. Completely reliable for me. Whether it is great choice for you depends on the kind of riding and roads you will be on.

I have an 03 955i alsao and find it does have an aggressive riding position that may be an issue if you are into long hauls or have back trouble.

The pillion seat itself, according to my wife, is much more comfortable than that of my '00 Ducati. It is positioned higher than the rider, which makes it nice for her to see over me rather than around me, but makes it more difficult to get on and off of.

I am pleased beyond expectations with the bike itself, but if you are doing alot of riding with a pillion, your passenger may not be happy with your choice in bike. My wife says she starts to experience discomfort after about 30-40mins, but is ok to go after a 10-15min break.

My wife won't even get on the Daytona with me and instead insists on the Sprint when she's going along ... just as well since carving up back roads is best done without a 100 ....or so (better be careful here) pounds extra aft and up high!

I keep the cowl on, installed the CF high pipe and took off those pesky rear pegs ...

I have the '04 955i and the ergonomics are not any different than the '03. Like everyone else says its depends on the kind of riding you do. I love my bike, I took it to Deal's Gap, NC in October from Rochester, NY, then to CT form NC, in 8 days total travel time. I accrued 3885 mi in those 8 days, and yeah by the end I was feeling it a little bit, but nothing outrageous. I am 6 ft tall with long arms, so that helps on the bike it has a tall saddle height, and a long tank, so take that into account.

Hey Flyby:

Why the Sprint and the Daytona.

I have a Sprint RS, and was wondering whether to go with an 05 ST or a new (03) Daytona. The Daytona is a better deal. I may just upgrade my RS.

What roles does each bike have, and which gives you more fun?
