Talking FINALLY GOT ONE, BRAND NEW '06 955i

After 4 weeks of looking at, '97, '01, '05 and finally walked into dealership and whoa and behold I fell in love instantly, I wasn't too sure of the colors I'd seen, Yellow, Black........This one is a lovely metalic gold looking color, beautiful. Can't find on triumph sites what color this is, as it is not the normal yellow. Pick it up Monday, haven't even ridden one, so hope I've the right thing. Used to own a Laverda RGS1000 triple, so this should be interesting. I thought I was getting old and sold my GSXR1100 for my little T100 '07, but I've been hanging out for a nice sunday blast for ages. I know with resale value I have to keep it, as they don't hold value here, actually just about unsaleable. I can't see Triumph bring out 1050 daytona when they are still trying move the 06 ones, and anyway, they are more powerfull than the 1050!!! One question, it has the cowl on seat, do they come with pillion seat too? Can't wait......I can see licence disappearing again....next will buy radar detector, not illegal yet in Western Australia, ha ha! Cool two Triumphs, weekday for Bonnie, weekends for Daytona.

Congrats on the new bike. Yes there should be a seat as well. I got both when I bought mine.

So what year is it?

Just a note about the comment on 955i having more power. You can be sure that if they make a 1050 sport bike(whether they call it a Daytona) it will have even more power than the 955i as it will be a new design. But the new 1050 sportbike is still rumor, and I personally can't see waiting and find out it was all a rumor, or that 2 years down the road it comes out, and me without a nice bike.

Anyways, be sure to get pictures and post to see the color.

Woops, never mind my question about what year, duh, I should have read the title more closely.

Lucky you. I had to scour Sydney to find another new bike on a dealership floor in December last year to replace my beautiful yellow '05 that I thoughtlessly killed in a moment of carelessness.

They were thin on the ground back then...

I have a spare unused pillion pad from my '05 if you need it. It never went on the bike as it's set up for solo riding only. You're welcome to it if you cover the freight.

I don't care if the 1050 comes in soon or not. The bike I have is capable of doing 170kph over the posted speed limit. I don't actually know anyone who could ride my '06 at 100% on any local road around here and survive longer than ten minutes.

If I was on a track (and I was an 'A' Grade rider back in the day), I could probably extract 90% on a good day these days... It's more than enough for me and given the looks I get from some people, they already think I ride too fast on what I have.

Enjoy what you have, a superb machine which will last you for years.

I will die with my Daytona still registered to me...

In my opinion, it's the most beautiful sportbike ever made. It's a race machine with a touch of class that is unique to the motorcycle world.

I'll never sell it...
