Pre WW2 Triumphs were made in Coventry (thats a city in the midlands of England)
After the Luftwaffe destroyed Coventry and with it the Triumph factory, production moved to Meriden.
In the late 60's early 70's some models were made in Small heath Birmingham as by that time Triumph and BSA were one and the same company.
After BSA went bust production continued at Meriden until the 1980s. For a short time 750 bonnevilles were built in Devon, Then Bloor (a miilionaire property developer) bought the name and manufacturing rights to Triumph motorcycles. A new factory was constructed at Hinkley in Leicestershire (England) The first plant did suffer a fire but still operates and a big new factory was opened accross the road.
So yes modern Triumphs are nicknamed Hinkley's because they are made in Hinkley Leicestershire England.
That do you? Oh by the way get an atlas!
