Dead 595 Daytona

P Reg, riding along, engine stopped and wouldn't restart. Took to local motorcycle dealer who tried to access diagnostics - said wouldn't download and give them the information so it must be the ecu - (£1000 please). Anybody else had a similar problem? Will turn over but won't fire and engine management light on. Hope someone has a cheaper answer!!!!

You might try posting this in the Daytona forum. This one's for the older carbed triples.

Hey, wait a minute...

Like, Scoob, where am I? I thought this WAS the Daytona forum??
At any rate, I am very sorry to hear of this happening, gruff. I, myself, am of no help to you, but I betcha someone else here will have ideas. Was the "local motorcycle dealer" you went to a Triumph dealer? Geez, you'd think THEY would have a better answer than that...? Don't give up, keep trying...it seems like the T595's have a lot of heart and run well if cared for!

gruff, Check the fuses, relays (by swapping) and the earth (ground) block between the gas tank and the ECU. Unless the bike was hit by lightning or there was a sloppy jump start the ECU is pretty sturdy.

EXTREMELY sturdy.

I've only heard of one on a Daytona going bad...

This is the Daytona area, "Daytona Deliberations"

Most of the post here are from owners of injected 595s and 955is, I dont know why someone said is restricted to carb'd early Daytonas...

Am I right, moderator?

Regarding dead T595, I believe is unlikely you have a dead ECU. Try reading fault codes in with someone else. If codes cannot be read, power supply to the ECU is a good starting point.
