Seat?

I'm looking for a new seat for my 2004 955i. What aftermarket seat is the most comfortable and still is reasonably priced. How much should I be looking to spend on a good quality seat. I need something that would be good for about 2 hours of riding.

I've got a Sargent on the 04 I just bought. I did 2 hours on it getting home from the dealer (with one short break), and it's pretty comfortable, but I want to try the stock seat out as well and compare. I like to move around on the seat a lot, and if the stock seat lets me do more of that, I may use it for longer trips.

The Sargent definitely looks good, and I'm guessing it will prove more durable than the stock seat. It costs about $300 according to their web site.

I have a Sargent seat also, and I like it better than stock. More comfortable for long rides.

The stock seat on my '06 Daytona was hell on my rear end after an hour.

It feels more compliant than the gel seat that I replaced it with (to the touch) but I can get a good 2.5-3 hours without discomfort with the Triumph Gel seat.

You can extend that a little by wearing bicycle padded lycra shorts under your leathers.

I'm sure that some leatherbutts which are using their Daytonas for touring will scoff at my measley 2.5 - 3 hours and call me a wimp. It could be true as I ride my BMW R1150RT if I need to get somewhere fast with one quick stop for fuel. A nine hour day on that is still comfortable.

Gel seat for me and inexpensive...

Ditto on the Sargent. It won't turn your bike into a Gold Wing, but it's a heckuva lot better than the vinyl covered piece of scrap lumber that Triumph calls a seat.
