Bulb & horn questions!

Hey guys! Wanted to ask if anyone has had their horn go out (one moment it was working, and the next...), and if so, what was the culprit? Do these horns go through a relay? Are they fused? Hopefully it isn't the actual switch, as it takes a while for us to get Triumph part orders! :
Also, does anyone have thoughts or preferences on replacement headlamp bulbs...I fear this could be like opening up the great oil/tyre debate, so sorry if that is the case... I ended up getting these Sylvania SilverStar bulbs that I am hoping aren't going to mess up the alternator or melt anything in the lamp housing area...(I've been told by three seperate bike shops that using too high a "kelvin" could make that a reality, but the bulbs I got are 4000k's. Do you think those are safe for 'Tona?
Peace out! And thanks!

the kelvins are the measure of color of the bulbs. what ya have to heed is the wattage...its the 2 numbers on the bulb...it refers to the highbeam and low beam wattage. if ya go with higher watt bulbs, ya have the problem of drawing to many amps and melting the wire loom. not good...and there is the risk of creating to much heat in the lens housing that ya warp or melt the lens housing....just stay away from upping the watts. just get quality bulbs that are manufactured with high quality, such as Piaa's i have them in my Ram 4x4, they are the super whites and have never blown in 7 years of hard abuse....plus they are brighter and use less watts for the same as stocks.

and the horn is cheap....mine goes in and out sometimes....im sure that ya could fit an aftermarket one....i would probally try a big 4 jap. horn before i spend the dough on a triumph one.
