2000 Daytona 955 Chain adjustment not working

Hi, I have tried to adjust my chain several times this afternoon and I am having this problem.
I got the back end off the ground and found that as you rotate the rear tire, the chain goes slack and then tight as it rotates?
And I mean pretty tight, to falling of the sprocket loose!
Any clue? I'm lost here, there has never been a problem but I saw the chain looked a little loose and then found this?
Any help would be appreciated.

Need to replace the chain - one half is seriously worn. Not uncommom.
When adjusting the chain the instructions always recommend to find the tightest point first & adjust for that. If yours is overly loose in the slackest position it is simply worn worst there.

Check your sprockets too - they might also have problems adding to the issue. You may need to replace the set.
