Open the gas tank, try again & report if it's any different!

I put a new batt on and it still will not start. sounds like the fuel pump is working but it sound weak not as loud as it was since i bought it. Maybe it is the spark plugs. what do you think?

I started having this same problem on my 06 the last few weeks. It is intermittent, but very irritating. Turns over but won't start. Acts like it wants to fire but just can't. I have to just keep trying and it eventually fires up, but acts like it is struggling to run until I throttle it. These are the types of problems that could be a real pain if one was on a trip somewhere and this makes me leary to ride the thing to Texas from here. I am beginning to think the RS is more reliable than the new bike.

Has anybody thought of changing the fuel filter? Mine has been having the same trouble. I just picked one up and will have the results this weekend for everyone.

I was over at mt regular mechanics getting tires put on today and he went to take a spin and the bike wouldn't start. I mean just would not fire for about two or three minutes of trying and finally it fired after using the power switch on/off and opening the tank lid. Then it didn't fire hard as it usually does it barely stayed running. I called the dealer from there and told them this is the fifth time in three weeks I've had this happen. The dealer said they have had some problems with the daytonas and the ground. The fix is an extra ground from the head to the grounding block(whatever or wherever that is) to the negative terminal on the battery. Also suggested I don't use the tuneboy as they've had some customers with bad tunes loaded from tuneboy. He also suggested just updating the Triumph tune when I bring it in. Anyone know what or where the grounding block is? And I don't think the tuneboy is the problem, but I will try and reload the tune after I add a second ground.

I had a similar problem on my bike, two days after I bought it. It was cranking slowly and almost didn't start. My dealer's mech. found that both cables were loose. The next day I shut it off at an errand and came back 5 min. later and it wouldn't crank at all. A fellow Triumph rider with a new Bonneville was parked next to me, and he fetched a set of cables and got me going (Cheers, Mark!). When I got to my dealer they checked it with the scan tool and it showed a defective battery. With the new battery, so far, so good. It fires after 3-4 cranks, even when hot.

Dealers hate Tuneboy...it's $$ out of their pocket.
