Was interested in this mod. Do you have specific part numbers and was it an easy DIY project? I called my local dealer and he wasn't sure the Thruxton would work with the daytona perch.

Thanks,
-E

It works fine, trust me.............. :-D

Take a peek at the perch on the Thruxton and the one on the '04 Daytona; look the same, don't they? The Thruxton has a mount for the mirror on the clamp part of the perch, but you don't need or want that; you'll be using the clamp off of your old perch.

Don't forget to order the adjuster and the friction spring for the '04 perch as the earlier adjuster is different. Make sure to get the pin the pivot rides on and the bushing too. You'll re-use the nut from your old pivot pin.

Still don't believe me? Look at the clutch on the '05 Speed Triple.

I'd give you the part numbers, but my dealer screwed up and re-ordered a '02 perch first, so the only way I'd be able to give you the correct number is by looking at the computer at the dealer, which your parts guy should be able to do.

Good luck, Ken

Thanks for the reply Ken.

So just to summarize i need to order a Thruxton Dogleg Clutch Lever and an 04 Daytona Perch right?

When i called the parts manager he quoted me for the clutch lever and mentioned a few other pieces front whatchamahoosit and another thingamajig. And that was before i inquired about the perch.

I'm not what you'd call familiar with motorcycle parts so it was all greek to me. I also found that Skyking has an adjustable clutch lever for the Daytona but runs about $95 but $60 for this mod sounds better. I just dont' know if this mod is hard to do or not. The Skyking is just a lever change.

Unfortunately, the Sky King doesn't dog leg like the Thruxton lever, and it does cost more.

The dog leg lets your index, ring and middle fingers do more work, which makes a huge difference in the feel.

If you can switch to the SK giddyup, you can do this mod, it's real simple.

A set of allen wrenches and a small box wrench for the nut on the pin is all you need.
