Can anybody suggest and alarm for a 99 Daytona? My insurance company is being a P.I.T.A. and requiring one, that said, I'm not against a cost effective one with good features.

Its my understanding that the later Triumphs come somewhat equipped/ready for an alarm system. Can anyone comment on the 99's?

Your insurance up there sounds tough.

I don't have one on my current bike, but I used Scorpio Systems on my FZR600. It worked well, easy to install, if you are technical. They have a two way transmitter, so if any of the sensors go off, it pages you within a 2 mile radius. May be more now as technology has gotten better since the year 2000. Mine came with a tilt sensor, prox sensor, and you tied into the tail lights for the ignition sensor. I friend bought me an add on module for the ignition kill since I installed his alarm. It was cool. If someone bike jacked you, you hit a button on your remote, and would kill it in 15 seconds. obviously you don't but the remote FAB with the keys to be able to use this feature. The kill module also worked when the alarm was on, someone couldn't just hot wire the bike. I put the link to the place below. Just click on it.

They hassled me (and reduced the premium enough) to take a bike safety course (21 plus hours mostly in a lot!) to reduce the premiums and won't offer comprehensive unless there's an alarm present.

I could've avoided it, but I have to admit, I didn't look around too hard for alternatives. My premiums with comprehensive will be in the low 400's per year with a safety course and alarm. I've no idea how that compares south of the border.

Anywho...alarm options anyone?

I came up with this...since there was so little response I'll get back with a review of sorts once I've got it installed:

I think they have Lowjack for bikes now. I think that would be the best bet because they actually catch the jerks who did it...

I like that... :-D
