Hi All,

So I have my 05 955 demo bike which may or may not still be set at factory settings. This is my first sport bike so I have no experience with shock settings.

Do you guys recommend any changes off the bat that will make it smoother, or better handling? I weigh 190lbs and am 6'3.

What have you all done to yours?

Heath

Ahh... the million dollar question. Mine came with racetech internals. The seller was about my weight and riding style, it handled great, I messed with it after new tires, and hasn't been the same since.
If you ride hard, I would suggest sending them in to race tech. Of course to really go overboard, you'll need to get the rear in tune also.
There are several sources on line to get ideas about seting sag, and damping, but I haven't got it figured out yet.
If you do change settings, don't be a tool like myself and take a baseline for reference. In other words, simply note the clicks and direction.

I'm about 6'4" and 230 lbs. I used the settings in the owners manual for rider + passenger and its like a new bike. Rides a little rough but handles great.

give this site a try, there is an 02 Daytona setting that should work for your bike.
