I'm looking to mount a zumo 550 to my daytona 955i and am having trouble finding someplace to mount it. I found this stem mount and was wondering if anyone knows if it will fit or not ?? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm not sure about the stem bolt.

Don't completely understand the graphic but think the stem nut is different on the late model Daytonas - I believe it has a tapered bevel on the nut so not sure if that affects how it mounts.

Hmm, this is interesting to me. I have been thinking of a way to mount my GPS when it gets here. It was shipped today. I got this for my car, but got the model I got because it is portable and had a 5 hour battery life, so when I go somewhere on the bike, I can put it on it as well. Also to do it with out blocking the view of the speedo. And something easily pulled out so no walker byer A-HOLE doesn't snag it and walk off if I go inside somewhere as a place to eat.

I used a fairing mount from TechMount to mount my radar detector on my Daytona. Their products are a little pricey, but the quality is top notch. The fairing mount that I'm using (part # 20992) appears to be the only one they make that will bolt on to our bikes. But, you may be able to find something else that will work with some modifications.

Here's my zumo mounted with HW from the box:

I can't see the speedo no more but that's no problem as I have separate(=accurate) speedo on LH handlebar.

I have a TomTom rider on my Daytona 955i. I used a 'Telferizer' mount which replaces the screw at the front of the petrol tank.

Jackal,

I had similar difficulty finding a mount for my Mio GPS. I ended up purchasing a techmount brand model that mounts directly to either the clutch or front brake controls. I have pics posted on the thread here:

The control mount was easy to mount and finish/fit is superb. One thing that I've noticed is that our bike's cockpits are pretty cramped with not much room to mount things/space. I'm not 100% keen on having the gps device mount to the bars. After Miroslav posted on my thread about his mirror mount-I bought one as well. When I get around to mounting it, I'll take some pics.

If your gps has rather poor battery life between charging, I've posted a walkthrough on installing an auxiliary power adapter.

Cheers,
-Scott
