Other Motorcycle: anything I can get.
Center stand definatly not, its a sportsbike, as for the oil My 06 has a stick on the cap, someone with an older one will have to give you the heads up on that. Welcome to the forum and the greatest real world bike around :-D by the way tere is no such thing as a dumb question on here.

I have a 99 tona, I have no dipstick either. I have no problem seeing my site glass(b/c my plastic was off). I had a friend hold the bike straight up off its side stand to check the level. I need some stands bad. There is a user manual you can download as well as some other stuff Here Your bike stayed the same for years 1997 through 2001, 02 and up is different

D

The lower fairing does half cover the sight glass making oil level checks kind of a PITA.

I place my bike on the rear stand (or have my daughter sit on the bike) and use a small single AA torch to read the oil level.

Always go for a ride after checking the oil and you'll forget this minor inconvenience. :-D

thanx doodledog i kinda assumed there would be no centre stand, might invest in a race stand, it would be useful! And thanx for the welcome, luv the Daytona!!!

thanx 99daytona955i am downloading the manual as we speak although it says that its a 02 manual. The t955i site looks interesting also, will have a look. Do u have frame sliders fitted, if so did you have to drill/cut fairing to fit? Will post some pics after i look at photobucket.

thanx also REGULATOR will try the mirror idea!

soonerfan85 will try the torch thanks.

On my 06, the sliders (R+G) fit through the vent in the fairing on posts to the top engine mount, no drilling required, in the UK cost was about £60, and the price of a Torx socket to remove the original bolts.
