My speedometer has just wet crazy on me this weekend. The max speed it reads is 25 when I know i'm well over 80mph. Do anyone know how to fix this or should I go to the dealer first. I'm hoping to find a quick fix, that I can do myself.

I believe your speedo drive has gone belly up. The Triumph speedo drives (the hub that is located on the left side of the front wheel) has a magnetic ring inside which is what gives you your rotation reading. The magnets eventually brake or crumble, and sometimes become demagnetized after time. It's a pretty common problem. For some reason you cannot buy the magnetic ring separate from the speedo drive. A new drive will cost you $169 so they aren't cheap! If you find a used one, make sure that it works and that the magnetic ring is intact. I have PM'd you regarding this thread.

kfamsan, I agree with BF. Had the front wheel been removed recently? The '02 D955i needed a new sensor after a front tire replacement. It too was reading 'partial speed'.

Dano, When I had the 10181 TOR tune installed on the '04 D955i we found a 10152 OEM tune, rather than the 10128 tune on the ECU's label. We think that this is the tune that writes out the self diagnostic that caused zero MPH displays.

Make sure your battery is fully charged and the battery connections are tight. If it doesn't have enough juice, the first thing to start acting wacky is the speedo...
