I have a 1996 Daytona 1200 in need of a Rt. side fork (entire) . There are NONE at the salvage yards that I have found. Would any other bike (Triumph or otherwise) have a fork that will bolt onto my Daytona ? Thanks in advance for any ideas or comments.
Cheers !

Welcome to the forum somen, I think you and I have the only Daytona 1200s in Atlanta.
Forks from a '96 Daytona 900, Super III, and Speed Triple will fit. The '95 models forks will fit too but they're about an inch longer. Everything changed in '97 so don't even go there.

What color is your D12?

Hey Daytona Charlie,
Thank you for the info, I'm hoping that if I can pass along the other models that may have a rt. Fork assembly, the salvage guy's may have better results finding one for me.
I bought my Daytona from a friend in VA. He had a neighbor back out of the driveway in front of him at fairly slow speed
but suffered damage to the fork and rt. side body parts.
I bought on E-bay a full set of custom painted Black Special Edition with Lime green accents parts for alot less $$ than the replacement pieces. This stuff came off a 1200 that a
Triumph dealer in Calif. used as his personal ride. He is converting to a semi-naked cafe racer.
Not exactly my choice in colors but it's wearing on me. You'll know me when you see me, hopefully soon.
I havn't even had it out for a ride because of the bent fork.
Thanks again for the info !
Scott

Hi Somen1,

I get the feeling that you are looking for as inexpensive a repair as possible. However, this may interest you especially if you would like to improve the 1200's handling significantly.

I have a 1999 Daytona 1200 and put on Race Tech front forks (see www.RaceTech.com ) and a Hagon rear shock (see www.DaveQuinnMotorcycles.com who is the Hagon importer). This combo really improves on the dive and squat of the rather soft factory units, give great feedback and is still compliment. Total dealer installed out-the-door cost was $1,203.79 performed on Dec 1, 2006. This includes $300 in labor, in case you are able to do the work yourself.
