I thought I would give everyone an update. After blowing a head gasket I decided to tear the motor all the way down and I struggled finding someone to work on the crank. I finally got Prieto racing in Pompano Beach, Florida to do it. The are also undercutting the gears in the transmission. I have enclosed some photos of the crank. They magnafluxed it for stress, chamfered the oil holes and polished and balanced the crank. No weight removal. Instead i am having 2 pounds removed off of the counter balancer and I am removing the backlash gears on the alternator and counter balancer. I do not want to split the cases again if i retire the bike from racing , so I am leaving the alternator drive gears and weight inside the cases. I have machined a cover to replace the alternator. The bearings are going back in a little looser than stock and I am replacing the rings. Prieto now can do the same treatment to any three or four cylinder Triumph Crank. The photos will be at my photo alblum, I do not know how to attach here.
