Been using Yuasa batteries for many years; current trend is towards gel (AGM) batteries, from whatever manufacturer. Well worth the extra bucks, IMO - last longer, crank better, good magic.

Anyone have any opinion on SVR?
Worth an extra $20?
14AH vs 12AH - any other reason?

Very interesting, DEcosse - I had never heard of SVR, so went to their website. When I go to their battery finder and plug in TRIUMPH, I'm dropped at the WestCo battery site, which has virtually the identical construction to the SVR website.

Now you tell me!
They are clearly the same parent manufacturer.

I just sprung for the SVR on EBay last night - $95 shipped

SVR Battery

I wonder what the difference in the specs/construction?
It does state the SVR is deep cycle design.

I have sent in an inquiry asking for clarification.

Here's what I got back from the inquiry I sent in yesterday

Quote:
The main differences are that the SVR 14 is US made and is built to Harley's specifications for heat and vibration. It is a premium battery.
The 12v14-b is a standard version that is built offshore...
Note that both SVR & Westco are actually subsidiaries of MK Battery which itself is a subsidiary of East Penn Mfg. Co.
