Ah, the weather was nice, I was energized, and DEcosse showed up to deliver some much needed tools and parts. This all made today great and I got a lot of work done.
I permanently installed the steering stem onto the bike. The seals and bearings all fit and work perfectly. I modified the clip-ons so that they suck up to the top clamp and I got everything mocked up to where I could sit on the bike and get a feel for it. I must say, those controls are a heck of a lot lower than my TT600  I kinda like it though. It'll at least get my arms in better shape! I always have the option of going to handle bars, but I want to give the clip-ons a chance.
I was hoping to get my wheel yesterday, but it never came in the mail. So today I tackled the steering stop and other little things. I was originally going to go with a setup similar to DEcosse's, but after digging through my bin of cut-off material I found a piece of aluminum "C" channel that gave me an idea

I didn't have access to a mill today, so it was back to the old-school days of saws, files, vise grips, and old fashioned muscle and sweat (no blood today). I had to anneal the aluminum in order to make the tight bends, but after I finished the piece I baked it in the oven at 500F and then submerged it in cold water to temper the aluminum. It's good and hard now. It turned out really nice and works dang well. I still need to paint and mount it.
