I don't know anyone who has installed a PC. I do know a number of 955 owners that have purchased TuneBoy and TuneEdit and the cable that goes with them (including myself). The Power Commander is an add-on that goes between the stock EFI controller and the engine. TuneEdit actually lets you program the stock EFI/ECU directly (no middle-man). The makers of the program also sent me an updated map that worked great. The best method is to buy the software and cable and take them to someone with a Dyno to get it just right, particularly if you have any aftermarket parts (intake or exhaust).

I actually have one on my bike, however, I own a 02 tt600. I put it on myself in about two hours after resetting the map, and installing K&N filter. I took it out and noticed a major difference. My powerband kicks in around 2800 rpms in first, when this happens, the bike pulls HARD!! then in second gear, the bike pulls really hard til about 12000 rpms. No lie, this has made a big difference in performance. it does hurt gas mileage. I get close to 120 miles per tank. For an example, my friend just bought a 2004 Yamaha R1. I raced him on a strip and pulled him through 1,2,3 and then he beat me in 5 &6. but my tt600 hung in hard. also, I was able to top my bik out at 163 instead of 150 mph. I have not changed any gearing, all I have done is installed a carbonfiber micron slip-on canister. But I do also swear by it. the pcIII is great!

I plugged a power commander onto my 01 955i, and immediately noticed a bit more power. The main thing I noticed was how it smoothed out the torque curve. i'm still running a bit rich though, and definitely need to dyno the bike. I'll let you know how it turns out.

I'm sure your TT is running great, but your friend is the worst rider on Earth if the above story is true. I've ridden a fully race-prepped TT600 w. head work, big valves, P.C. etc. and I've ridden a stock 02 R1 (considerably SLOWER than an 04 R1) and I can tell you this...

The only way any TT is gonna keep up with any R1 is if you throw them both out of the same airplane.

I believe that you could get the jump on your friend, but through 3 gears? No chance.

Hey, wait a minute...04 R1's aren't even on the continent yet! I just talked to my buddies at Triangle Yamaha in NC on Friday, and he sd they don't even have a delivery date but are hoping for before the end of Feb.

Normally I don't care if people make up stories, but here we have a guy trying to solicit advice about a pretty expensive piece of kit that he's thinking of spending hard-earned money on, and you're bullsh!tting him 6 days to Sunday.

Not cool.

Eseimers...

1. A PC is a great way to easily "jet" your bike, particulalry if you add a pipe. I've used several, but haven't yet had a fuellie Triumph.

2. Your TT will likely run great once you get it set up. However, it won't keep up w. an R6 motor-wise, let alone an R1.

3. Get one and let us know how it is!

:-D
