No answer for you but my guess is it probably has to due with how well it's maintained, and no doubt you probably know this already. I've heard of Daytonas posting miles in excess of 50K +.

I've got a '00 Daytona with only 2K (bought recently from a guy who never rode so almost all the miles are mine). Out of curiosity, do you feel your engine's as strong now as when you first got it? Also, what year Daytona are you on?

Take care,

All the sites I have read say it should last to 50 +.

I also have a local mechanic who used to work on triumphs but whent to another shop to work on japanese bikes. He basically siad if you take care of it, it should last awhile.

the engine is over-designed and the original triple,on which this is based, has examples with over 100k.no worries so just maintain her properly and use good oil.

Thanks Guys for all your insight. It's a 99 Daytona and it runs just as good as when I got it. I've followed the maint. guidlines to the "T" so I'm hoping for the best. I was shooting for 40k, but I'll take more...LOL
