I have been shopping around for a 955 daytona(sold my sprint) and just came across one. It is tornado red 2003 with white wheels and a SSSA. I have never seen this before, it is so hot. does anyone know about this?

I have heard something about something like that. I heard only 2 or 3 Centinial Editions were made in red and sold as 03s or something. Look in the Hinkley Photo Album; I think there's a picture in it. I may be pulling this out of my butt though. :???:

I had a 2002 Centennial in Aston Green which was a great bike.I think Triumph made a limited number of red ones just before the factory fire. If you like the looks you won't be disappointed with the bike as it'a step up from the Sprint, except for comfort.Suggest you fit the carbon can for maximium aural effect.

While contemplating the purchase of my CE, I called Triumph US in Georgia and got the following story. The guy I talked to didn't have exact production numbers, but stated there were approx. 350 Centenary Editions produced in Aston Green and about 200 in red. He didn't know how many were imported to the US, but said by using his data base he knew that 219 had warranty work done here.

It wouldn't make sense to have a 2003 Centennial edition because 2002 marked Triumph's 100 yr anniversary.

FWIW...I don't know of anyone who has a red model in the US.

trafficfixr, Your VIN indeed shows your new bike as a 2003 model.

Ford Mustangs celebrate anniversarys every five years and continue for one year, but encompasses two model years as it was a half year introduction. For example my '89 is a late model year car and has 25th Anniversary badges, early '90s do also. My '00 is a late model year car without any 35th anniversary badges...make any sense?

Hey trafficfixr,

Nice ride, man! I saw that on E-bay a couple days ago. It looks just like mine, except for the wheels. If I'm not mistaken, the Red CE's have an extra sticker on the top front side of the tank...something like two flags crossed up maybe. E-Mail Triumph with the VIN and they should be able to help you.

BTW, those white rims look awesome.....would look even better if the frame and swingarm were powder coated white too....dang- that WOULD be badazz!

Nice ride, bro. Keep it safe & enjoy!

It IS an awesome ride, but it's not a Centenary Edition. Skiandclimb is right...the CEs (ALL, not just the red ones) have a special badge on the tank that signifies it as such.

Well I think you guys are right after further investigation. It is not a CE. It does however have all the CE stuff, sssa, carbon fiber inserts, blah blah blah.
As for the wheels, thats how the bike came originally, i have never seen that before either. But thats what the original owner said.

Either way, i am psyched to own it and cant wipe the stoooooopid grin off my face since i picked it up. :-D
