Hi guys. I'm currently looking for a used daytoa and i found one at a dealership. it's an 01" silver with 5700 miles on the clock. never dropped or abused in any way. They're asking 6200 but the highest i can go is 5300, do you think i have a shot? i also found a 99" yellow but it has 27,000 miles and the owner is looking for 6000 for it!!!! personally i think that's way too much for a 5 year old bike. Any advice you guys could give would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Hold out for the 5300. You have an excellent chance, as a used Triumph on any dealer's sales floor is the sales amanger;s worst nightmare.

Yeah i'm hoping that i can get the 01" for that price. My only problem is that I won't have all the money till next Friday and i'm worried that the bike will be gone by then. DO you think i can still haggle the guy down even if i don't have all the money right on the spot? I can put a grand on it tomorrow. And give him the rest next friday. Or should i just wait till i have all the money in my hand at once to start negotiations?

All you can do is try. But I have to say, don't be in too much of a hurry. It isn't difficult to find used Daytonas for cheap.

Definitly take your time. The deals are out there just waiting to be scooped up.

If you are not stuck on a newer model, I know were there is a Super III with low miles for $6000.00. A little much, and I'm sure you could talk him down, but a very nice low mileage bike with the Sebring exhaust.

If insist on an '01 or newer, if this guy wont come off the price enough for you, just walk away, there will be another one right around the corner for the price you want to pay.

Gonzo or anyone else looking,

I've posted here before about this bike but I just lowered the price because I just picked up my Triumph R-3 and I can't afford two bikes. It's a 2002 Daytona 955i. Silver and black. You can find it on Cycletrader.com zip code 14526 of I can send you some pictures. The wife is about fed up with my garage and it HAS to go. It has 3500 miles. I bought it new at the end of 02. It has a season and a half on it. (In NY that's not very long!) Never been layed down. Bike is perfect. Actually it's still under warranty for another month if you wanted to get the whole thing checked out! The only mod I've done is put on the Triumph carbon fiber pipe and matching side panels on it. Sounds great. Let me know if anyone is interested. I'm asking 5800.00 obo. That comes with matching helmet and original parts. I live in Rochester NY 14526
Thanks guys

I wonder what the salesperson will say when the dealers get back from London, if your dealer is participating.
