I bought my Daytona at the end of May, intending to grow old and happy with it. And it was certainly a terrific choice, fast, good-handling, good fuel mileage, beautiful, not to mention I had wanted one for several years now. Really, it was perfect. But I guess I never really got over surgery on my neck and upper back, and after a long trip on my bike I was pretty rough Sunday, and traded for a Super Glide. I never did figure out how to post pics, but the 955 is a great sport-tourer and I had it in some pretty cool places during my 4500 miles of ownership. Hope the rest of you are able to enjoy your bikes for many years to come.

I bought EVERY accessory available for the bike, so if anyone's interested I'm listing it in the classified section here.

The Super Glide looks SWEEEEET with the Daytona soft luggage set, I just tried it out! Imagine how many people from both sides of the aisle will be annoyed with Triumph sport bags on a Harley :-D

Well, the sporting stance of the Daytona will cramp a leg and back,, a good option would have been a Rocket or even a Bonnie-America.... both outstanding rides, comfortable and dependable....enjoy the hog,,,they are nice bikes..

Funny how people who don't know you can flip their opinions of you so quickly. For instance, Harley riders who would never wave to me before, now swing out a hand whenever I pass, although I am still the same rider as ever. And here, where I've always posted positive comments, now I am not so popular.

I thought hard about a Triumph cruiser, but they just don't make the bike I was looking for. Their line-up jumps from a smallish vertical twin to a humongous 2.3 liter. I wanted something in between. Perhaps one day they will make a "super twin" or a "mini Rocket." And then perhaps I may buy one and all of you will smile at me, while Harley riders cease waving... :hihi:

It doesn't matter what you ride as long as you ride. I hope you enjoy the Harley, it's a pity the 955 didn't suit but that's life.

Ps Harley riders wave back/nod back over this side of the pond.

sshbsn: My post was in jest please dont take offence, however having owned a HD myself and having a back problem, I think you will have to check the rear shocks, the jolting and bottoming out I used to get was really bad on poor road surfaces, I had to spend a bundle on Hagon stuff to sort it out. :hammer:
