Don't have a Triumph dealer near me.
What non-OEM oil filter can I use on my 98 Daytona 955i?
Need a part number/manufaturer, so I can pick it up soon!

The best oil filter available is the Purlator Pure-One Line part #14610 (3/4" longer than stock) Works great, no clearance problems, has the most filter media, and it's easier to put on and take off too. Part #14612 is the same filter in a stock length. Get them at Pep Boys for about a $5.00 to $6.00!
Sorry, I saw Long Beach and reccomended Pep Boys. Not sure who carries Purlator Filters in Georgia. Sombody must though.

I'm using a Walmart Supertech filter until I can make a trip to civilization and buy a better filter. Having said that, I think I read somewhere that W-M filters are made by Champion. At least they were a couple of years ago when Champion was one of the top filters in some internet comparison. Anyway, it's inexpensive, easy to find and it works. What more could you ask for in a pinch?

That SuperTech filter is the best filter for 2 bucks, no question. If I couldn't get the Purlator and the Mobil 1 or Bosch (both are the same filter) models were not available I would not hessitate to use that one. So the $2.00 filter is my third choice, but I wouldn't spend all that much effort if my first choice was not an option. I might just go from first to third!

I just changed the oil in my 04, basically the same as the 05 and I used the Mobil 1 M1-110. It fit fine. It is a tad longer, but not that much to be concerned about. I have to say this is the easiest oil change I ever did. Didn't even have to take off the fairings or put up on a stand.

You could consider the reusable Charlie Busa stainless steel filter from www.venividivroom.com.
The S1 model is the correct one for Triumphs.

You better check out this link before you WASTE near $100.00 for a junk filter. I'll stick with what we KNOW works. Near the end of the page refers to the stainless filters and it all make perfect sense. Compared to a $5.00 Purlator these things let in WAY to much of the BIG particles for my taste!
