So here I am cruising along on my Tona and I look down and the gauges have gone dark.. Then it starts running rough and then rougher and then it dies.. I pull over and try to start it, no juice.. (Earlier in the day I had killed the battery by leaving the lights on). Did I not let the battery charge enough before I went out, is there a bigger problem? Do I just need a new battery??

Charge the battery, fire it up and check the stator output.

How does one check the stator output?? Volt Meter across the battery or some other method?
