After purchasing a 96 1200 Daytona and then going about fixing it I've finally got it on the road and what a beast!!!!
This thing is very smooth, handles beautifully and goes like a rocket. I reckon that 140kmh in top gear is about where it likes to sit. The torque is fantastic and allows you to pull away from 100kmh to the ton with ease. I have been playing with the front suspension set up and have found that with 15grade oil and 34psi in the fronts 6 turns out on all the settings is absolutely perfect for our (Aussie) road conditions. I have not played around with the rear settings at this stage. The front brakes are certainly not that good but they will do the job for now until I can get something decent. All in all a beautiful bike, easy to ride fast (up to 200kmh on rare occassions), handles sweet and goes like a rat up a drainpipe. I am absolutely rapt yee hah

Congratulations!!! Welcome to a very exclusive club. I got mine back in 99, bought it new. Still grinning!!! I did the RaceTech fork rebuild and I’m very happy with it. I need to do something with the rear now. Was going to do it this summer but went a bought a new ride instead (MG Cafe Sport), still got the D12, it’s a keeper.

The more I ride my D12 the more I love it, I refer to it as my personal ICBM. If you want to cover a long distance fast, in comfort with style there are few bikes that compare.

Have fun!

Later!

David
