I pick my new d955 up on saturday but have read in this weeks MCN that there is a problem with the rear brake caliper, is this on new bikes or a recall for older ones, anyone know?

As I understand it the recall is for recent bikes with SSSA. i.e. the new Sprint ST and Speed Triple and Daytona. My understanding is the last year or so. If you are buying from a Triumph dealer he should know which bikes are affected and should have the details.

If you are buying from another dealer ask him to check with Triumph. If you are buying privately ask Triumph yourself all you want to know is which VIN numbers are affected.

My guess is it is either a duff batch of pegs or someone didn't put them in properly. I didn't think the design had changed.

If someone else knows different we would be pleased to hear from you.

doodledog, I glanced a mention of this. IIRC, it has to do with the rear brake. The SSSA is now manufactured in a different factory and there is a slight difference to the older SSSA.

Have a look on the triumph website www.triumph.co.uk, it'll tell you which bikes were affected or not.

I've just looked and it was coolant leak on the Daytona, Sprint ST and Speed Trippled. For the Daytona it was only Vin No's 227652 to 234933.

The brake problem was limited to the Sprint ST only.
