Hi all,
I was thinking about lowering the footrests on my T3 daytona as i'm 6ft 3 and thought this might make things a tad more comfy on long runs. I've got two questions, first, has anyone done this themselves and does it improve long distance comfort? and second, is it just a case of swapping the old daytona pushrod assemblies (gearshift and back brake) for those of a corresponding trophy, or is there more to it?
Cheers guys
bob

Don't forget to factor in the reduction in ground clearance when lowering your pegs. Scrapey scrapey..... :-D

bobbo,
I've done just that, the Trophy parts will fit right on, the improvement is amazing and I've never had a ground clearance problem, well after I removed the stupid curb feelers from the foot rest ends that is.
It's a bit of work and not cheap but it is well worth the effort. I'm 6' and for me the stock position was pretty cramped. What you end up with is the stock Trophy foot position which is very comfy for touring, I've put 61,000 + miles on mine with no pain.

parts list:
Trophy left and right foot rest brackets (they're different from the Daytona)
Trophy rear brake pedal
Trophy rear brake pushrod (longer than Daytona's)
Trophy gear shifting assembly (pedal and adjusting rod with ball joint clamp)

check out my photo album for add'l shots of the set up, open a photo then after it opens click on it again for the full size view for a closer look

hope that helps,
dc
