I just bought a 97 Daytona with 8500k miles on it. beautiful bike. been riding japanese since I was 12. The bike seems to idle a little rough but very smooth off idle. I have heard this was typical for that year. I have the factory high rise carbon fibre exhaust on it. how many mapping iterations have been done for that year? Any thing to watch out for or pay attention too?

thanks all,

ch :???:

'97 was a good year for that bike - I have seen many of those remapped, most of those more than once.

My thought is that if you like the way it runs, don't mess with it. If most of the work was done by a particular dealer, talk to them and get their feedback.

hello everyone,

anyone been different gearing on your Daytonas? I seems like the stock gearing is a little high on mine and Im thinking about dropping a tooth on the countershaft sprocket. Also, I live in Phoenix, AZ and noticed that in traffic the bike started running hot, checked the fan, coolant, everything ok. anyone else notice the same?

thanx for the replies guys
