As some of you might remember I thought about getting a new Daytona some time ago, but decided not to.

However, now an insurance company is selling a written off '05 Daytona for a very cheap price. It's been dropped on the right side, and as far as I can tell by the pictures, the damage restricts to the fairing. So I thought about getting it, and some GRP fairing and turning it into a trackday tool.

Of course I'll make my final decision when I get a chance to see the bike, but what's there to check out apart from the obvious frame in a dropped Daytona?

They're not saying, but judging by this, not at a very high speed

Is it a salvaged title? But I guess if it is just a track bike then that doesn't matter. Its alot to insure when salvaged.

Their asking price is €7600, but it'll most likely go for for something between 4 and 5. I'm thinking this this and a Suzuki TL1000R.
I'll make a decision after I get a chance to see the Triumph

My 'tone fell off the kickstand and it was a 'total'.

I guess a nick in the frame cannot be subjective, no matter how small. I told the estimator it was previous, just to avoid the hassle. On this side of the pond, salvage title doesn't mean that you cannot licence, insure etc.

I was going to sell ya my right side controlls for cheap, but I see that shipping would negate any deal.

My bike broke the peg bracket on the left side, but it now has Gilles rearsets............... :upthumb:
