Just seen a 2004 daytona se the all black one. Its done 1650 miles and they are selling for a smidge over £4000. Should I bite his hand off? Will I like it as I've only ever owned T3 series bikes. Will I be able to home service it like the 1200?

Hard to say, but probably. The '04 will be familiar in some ways...new in others. If you keep the D1200, I think it'll be an excellant stablemate.
