OK, I'm obviously an idiot so let's get that out of the way from the start...

I want to remove the rider's seat from my brand new Daytona 955i.

The quite useless hand book says that you remove two screws (doesn't indicate where these two screws may be). I've removed the rear cowling, no access from there.

I haven't yet removed the side panels (the pseudo cardon fibre ones) but I thought I'd save time and ask here.

I love the bike by the way, my first Triumph since my pre-unit Bonnie I had in 1967.

They've come a long, long way.

Anyone steer an old fool in the general direction please? Also, where might I source a workshop manual for a late model Daytona?

Cheers,

Linz

Linz, Welcome to the forum.

To remove the rider's seat first remove the pillion seat. Towards the front of the cavity you'll see two bolts. Remove those two and the brackets they retain and the rider's seat will lift out, rear first.

Shop manuals can be purchased from Triumph and can be found on line.

Brad

PS The c/f side panels and infills aren't fake...don't break 'em.

Thanks for that. My Laverda rider seat comes off the same way but with one fat thumbscrew. I looked there first thinking that's where it would be but couldn't see it...

Blind as well as daft eh?

So the carbon fibre bits *are* carbon fibre? They don't feel at all like the bits on the Laverda, very plastiky... Nice to know that they're real though.

I *have* to get a rear hugger. That ***** fat rear tyre is throwing ***** all over the place.

It may not be so hard now I know that at least the hugger is real carbon fibre (at the price)

Thanks for the info.
