I have the 1200 Daytona, the 'older' carb model so not sure if there's any possibility this is applicable.
I got stranded the other day. I've been riding this bike for perhaps 1K miles so far since buying it. No problems.
It stalled on me, on a hill at a busy traffic light
After a long time fiddling I noticed that the fuel lever (petcock) has a screw in the center of it and the screw was loose. It seems that somehow my fuel was partially shut-off even though the dial pointed to 'on'.
I tightened the screw, turned the petcock around a bit to make sure I knew where 'on' was, then pointed the dial to 'on' and tightened down the screw. All is well now.
I'd suspect that your problem can't be that simple, but I write this anyway, just FYI. Point was that I had been running but I just didn't have a full-open fuel supply so it choked-out and stalled.
